In ten years, we have granted more than $1.5 million to over 70 different community or not-for-profit organisations. These funding recipients have been located in Mirboo North, Boolarra, Dumbalk, Mirboo, Thorpdale, Narracan, Yinnar, Hallston and Allambee.

Funding has supported the areas of Environment, Education, Youth, Health and Well-being, Arts and Culture and Community Strengthening. The Community Grants Program ensures that there are opportunities to support local people to develop solutions, build capacity and share skills in the community.

Do you have a project that you think will benefit the community? This year is the time to bring it to life! Applications for the MNDCF Community Grants open annually in September of each year. If you have an idea for strengthening your community or community organisation, or building capacity in our district, this year could be the time to reach out and tell us about it, Don’t be put off by the grant process, the  Community Foundation will help you navigate your way through your application. You can get in touch with Executive Officer Ruth by phone on 0418 301 092 or by emailing info@mirboodistrictfoundation.org.au The Community Foundation has supported projects such as school drumming, mental health & well being programs, community access workshops,  all ability play-ground equipment and community gardens projects. Note: this year we have an additional stream of funding for recovery and resilience projects.  If this is applicable to your project, please include some information about why and how the project or grant will support recovery or resilience in the community within your application.
When can I apply?

The Community Foundation’s Community Grants Program is open for the month of September every year. If you have a project which is time critical or there is an urgent need, you can contact us to discuss your project.

Time Critical Projects

The Community Foundation is committed to being responsive to community need as it arises and will award grants outside of the annual program. If your project cannot await the annual community grants round because it is urgent or time critical you can apply for a community grant at any time.
Applications are processed in a similar way and can be made at any point throughout the year. Contact the Community Foundation to discuss your community needs today.
Anytime during the year, when urgent community need arises.
