Why Your Support Matters

To date

We have awarded more than $250,000 in Education Support Awards to young people and mature aged students beginning tertiary education for the first time.

Beginning or returning to further education can feel exciting but it also comes with challenges.
Many people must juggle study costs, travel, relocations, new environments, or being the first in their family to pursue tertiary training. Others simply don’t consider it because of the financial strain.

Your support helps make the journey easier by providing:

  • Financial assisstance for study materials, travel, equipment, uniforms, technology, or living costs.

  • Connection and mentoring, so no one has to take this step alone.

  • Leadership and personal growth opportunities, including camps, workshops and skill-building experiences.

  • A supportive community network that encourages people to stay motivated and keep moving forward.

Community Partnerships

We have awarded more than $250,000 in Education Support Awards to young people and mature aged students beginning tertiary education for the first time.

The Education Support Fund benefits from strong partnership that help create long-term opportunities for people across our district:
  • YouThrive Victoria – offering mentoring, personal development and leadership programs.

  • Community Bank Mirboo North & District – providing ongoing financial support for education initiatives.

  • Lions Club of Mirboo North – contributing to leadership and mentoring programs through YouThrive.

These partnerships help ensure that people of all ages have the confidence, resources and community backing they need when stepping into further education or training.

Stories From Our Community

The ESF really helped me to settle into and prepare for uni.
It was
really helpful to have a bit more reassurance when moving interstate. It was really useful
for the simple things I needed when first starting my course, such as books and practical materials such as my dissecting kit.” – Former recipient, studying Marine & Antarctic Science – Stephanie Parker.

When we back our young people, we strengthen our whole community.
