Future Fund
Growing Long-Term Support For Our Community’s Needs and Opportunities
What The Fund Supports
The Future Fund supports initiatives that strengthen the Mirboo North & District region for the long term. Your contribution helps ensure:
Disaster recovery and medium-term response, such as rebuilding after storm, fire or flood events
Community resilience projects, enabling local groups to plan ahead and respond quickly when needed
Invested capital that grows over time, so earnings can be distributed to future generations
Grant support for local organisations working in the fields of environment, wellbeing, infrastructure and community capacity
By donating to the Future Fund, you help build a stronger, more resilient community — one that is ready when the unexpected happens.
Why It Matters
The Mirboo North & District Community Foundation was established in 2010 to invest the proceeds of a local community asset sale and to use the earnings for local grants. Mirboo North Community Foundation
When a major storm hit in February 2024, the Foundation’s investment and preparedness allowed the community to respond quickly and effectively.
This is exactly what the Future Fund is about: having a financial backbone ready to support our region now, and into the future.
Managing the Future Fund through careful investment means our community can support ideas, groups and initiatives that build capacity, resilience and hope. Every gift helps the fund grow, ensuring there is local money available when it is needed most.
